Rhetoric Stage
Rhetoric (9-12)
In the rhetoric stage, students refine judgment, expression, and persuasion, learning to present truth with clarity, confidence, and charity.
Literature
Students become well versed in the common cultural consensus of the Western world and explore great ideas expressed through literature while developing appreciation for the beauty of language.
History
Students articulate the major forces and turning points that have shaped history, understand the consequences of human action, and communicate values that cultivate strong character.
Rhetoric
Students master the basics of formal rhetoric and refine their skills through constant practice in all classes, culminating in the writing and defense of a senior thesis paper.
Math
Students solve complex equations with single and multiple variables, complete proofs in Geometry, and solve problems using trigonometric functions while appreciating order and structure.
Sciences
Students study general science, biology, anatomy and physiology, marine biology, chemistry, and physics, learning to understand the natural world through scientific principles and observable phenomena.
Classical Language (Latin)
Students deepen their understanding of English grammar, learn modern foreign languages more quickly, and read great works of antiquity in the original language.
Modern Foreign Language
Students studying Spanish or French learn communication, grammar, syntax, literature, and culture through a modern foreign language.
